Adele Dorosch (nee Bachert) 93, formerly of Grayslake and Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Adele was born in 1929 in Aljmas, Croatia to Jakob and Katharina (Kopf) Bachert. While in her teens, her family immigrated to Germany, where years later, she met and married Joseph, the love of her life.

In 1956, along with their young daughter and her parents, they came to the United States to start a new and better life. A few years later their family expanded when another daughter was born. Never one to shy away from hard work, they built a wonderful life for their family.

She was a woman of many talents which included cooking, baking (her cakes and cookies were the best), crocheting, knitting, needle point, and gardening. She also spoke three languages. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them. Her family will miss her dearly.

The last few years of her life were spent at Cedar Lake Assisted Living where she made many close friendships with residents and staff alike. She is survived by her loving daughters Irene (the late Bob) Wheeler, and Sylvia Desens (partner Scott Haugan); her beloved grandchildren Dan (Ellen) Wheeler, Melissa (Matt) McLenaghan, Jessica (Matt) Yesensky, Kristin (John) Salazar, and Jennifer (Wymann) Wong; cherished great-grandchildren Alex, Emily, Lyla, Ashley, Alyssa, Landon and Tyler; many nieces and nephews and also cousins in Germany. Adele was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph, her parents and her sister Anna Dressner.
