It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Angelina Whitehead on March 20th, 2024, at the age of 98. Angelina was born in Imotski, Croatia on September 10th, 1925. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Trevor; parents, Josa and Marion; sister, Millie; brother-in-law, Guido; and sister-in-law, Wendy.
Angelina came to Canada in 1940, on one of the last civilian ships to cross the Atlantic during the war years. She made the trip with her mother and sister and was met in Vancouver by her father. After settling in Canada, she worked as a tailor and married Trevor in 1946. He was the love of her life, she of his.
They were happily married for 67 years, building a family full of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Angelina was an amazing woman and loving family matriarch. She was generous to all, and everyone was welcome in her home. She remained young at heart until the end. She will be sorely missed by her 3 children, Kristina, Gerry, and Jeff (Diane); her brother Valarie (Karen Anne); and by her grandchildren, Darren (Alyson), Alex (Jana), Roberta, Holly (Erik), Kira, and Matthew; and by her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Emilia, Teagan, Rylee, Owen, and Stevie.
