Dob: 86
Anna Louise ("B.B.") Resetar Radin passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 26, 2022. She was 86 years old.
B.B., born on December 27, 1935, was the fifth and youngest child of Louis Resetar, Sr. and Anna Katherine Resetar (née Matson), and was the last surviving member of the second generation of the Resetar family. The first generation had emigrated from Croatia to California in the early 20th century. For decades to follow, the family operated the largest agribusiness enterprise in the Pajaro Valley.
A lifelong Watsonville resident, B.B. attended Moreland Notre Dame Academy, was graduated from Watsonville High School, and completed her formal education at San Jose State College.
B.B. was working for the Bank of America when she was introduced to Peter Mitchell Radin, a member of another local Croatian-American farming family, and on April 2, 1956, they were wed.
Energetic and organized, B.B. was a homemaker throughout her marriage, and she was an apple grower too. At her core, she was an efficiency and logistics expert, always with an eye on the clock. Every transaction was planned with precision.
B.B., who was down-to-earth and sociable, enjoyed bowling and tennis, and fancied playing poker. A gracious hostess, she had a knack for making friends young and old, and for engaging people in spirited and challenging conversations. She was a keen observer and an insightful commentator, and she was an avid reader.
B.B.'s husband of 58 years predeceased her, as did her siblings Marie Resetar Johnson Cota, Louis Resetar, Jr., William Resetar, and Peter Resetar.
B.B. leaves behind son Peter Mitchell Radin, Jr. (Kathleen Trafton), daughter Michelle Radin Deen, granddaughter Alisa Marie Deen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge B.B.'s frequent companion and confidante Casey Clark, as well as her devoted caregivers Corina Manzo, Fermina Torres, Maria Diaz, and Norma Tobias.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the gardens of the Pajaro Valley Historical Association at 332 East Beach Street in Watsonville on Saturday, August 27, 2022, starting at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend.
