Anthony John Dosen Sr. (Tony Sr.), 82, of Independence, Ohio passed away on August 19, 2026 in Bonita Springs, Florida where he spent the final years of his life. Born on April 16, 1944 in Gospic, Croatia. He is preceded in death by his parents Kaja and Mato, siblings Milan and Manda, and wife Sharon. Tony lived a vibrant life defined by hard work, a great sense of humor, and a strong pride and love for his family.

Tony was the youngest brother of five children Maria, Milan, Manda, and Violet. In 1951, the family emigrated to the United States via the US General Murray at Ellis Island. His Croatian heritage remained a point of pride and he enjoyed returning to explore his birthplace and country of origin.

Tony also displayed his commitment to his US citizenship by serving in the United States Army as a sergeant during his service from May 1965-May 1967. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal during his active duty.

Tony met his loving wife, Sharon L. Dosen, on the dance floor. They married in 1968 and spent 49 wonderful years together prior to Sharon's passing. In that time, they welcomed three children, Tony Jr. (Maureen), Mathew, and Amy. Tony was also a loving grandfather to Tony (Abby) and Katie, and great-grandfather to Zoey, Mia, and Emma. The life and family they built together remained one of his greatest sources of pride and watching his family grow in recent years brought him such joy.

Tony established a successful career in the scaffolding industry, driven by hard work, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Alongside his son Tony Jr., he built a business that continues to thrive today. But those who knew Tony would say that his greatest accomplishment was not his business, it was the people he loved and the lives he touched.

After losing Sharon, Tony eventually made his way to Florida, where he embraced a new chapter of his life and one of the things he loved most, golf. He enjoyed the sunshine, the game, the friendships, and the opportunity to continue enjoying life. In the last few years, he was fortunate to find companionship and happiness with Lynne. Together, they traveled, played golf, drank wine, shared new experiences, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

Tony lived a life filled with family, hard work, laughter, friendship, and love. His personality was larger than life, and his sense of humor will be deeply missed. His stories will be told, his jokes will be remembered, and his laughter will continue to live on in the people he loved.
