Anthony Nickolas Buholov, also known as Tony, was born August 20, 1937 and passed away May 17, 2024 at the age of 86.
His parents, Mary and Anton Buholov, emigrated from Croatia and settled in Watsonville, purchasing an apple orchard where they raised Anthony. He attended Salsipuedes Elementary, then graduated from Watsonville High. In 1956 he was drafted into the Army, served in Alaska for 5 years, then enlisted in the National Guard Reserves. Upon returning to Watsonville, he worked for PG&E for the next 30 years.
As a boy, Anthony loved the outdoors, animals, hunting and fishing. He loved the 49ers and Giants; claimed he was the first 49er fan. He enjoyed going to Lake Tahoe and the casinos. He carried the passion to the CA Lottery where he played often. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his cousin, Anna Mae Ronsse (Jim), his nephews and nieces, John, Greg, Sandy and Karen, his very close friend since the 5th grade, Julius Dias, his grandnieces and nephews, Casey, Nicolette, Nicholas and Troy. He was preceded in death by long-time companion, Cecilia Martinez.
