Dob: 85
Anton Luketic, age 85, of Eastlake, peacefully passed away on January 30, 2026. He was born on July 7, 1940 in Duga Resa, Croatia to the late Mijo and Maria Luketic.
Anton was the beloved husband of Kathryn Luketic for 60 years; a loving father of Tony Luketic (Ann); proud grandfather of Bethany Hanna (Joseph), and Hannah Luketic; and a caring great grandfather of Seren Hanna. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Marko, Josip, and Mica.
In a quest for a better life, at the age of 22, he escaped communism in Yugoslavia, crossing the border into Italy. He spent a year and a half there before being sponsored by Catholic Charities to immigrate to the United States-a move that changed the trajectory of his family forever.
Anton established a long career as a burn machinist. He dedicated 20 years to C.E. Tyler, followed by several years at Elwell Parker, and eventually retired from COE Manufacturing after a long and proud career.
Beyond his professional life, Anton could be defined as a man of simple pleasures with great love for his family. He was a formidable chess opponent for any willing to challenge him. Anton never missed a single one his son's baseball games. His heart truly belonged to his grandchildren and great-grandson; he cherished every second spent playing with them and beamed with pride as he watched his granddaughters perform with the Tamburitzans. To Anton, family was everything, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for those he loved. A man of immense courage, strength, and love, Anton will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
