It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our Husband, Dad and Dida, Anton "Tony" Stojkovich, on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at home with his family by his side.
Born in Breznik, Croatia on August 16, 1941, to Nikola and Sofia Stojkovic, Tony came to Canada in 1961 to start a new life. He met his wife Katica 'Kathy' in 1966, they married soon after and celebrated 56 years of marriage this past August.
Tony retired from General Motors in 1997 and enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. He loved to travel and cruise with his family visiting the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, the Mediterranean and South America. He enjoyed making homemade sausage, sauerkraut and wine and took pride in having a beautiful garden and lawn.
He is survived by his devoted wife Kathy; his loving daughter Caroline with her husband Nick Bozicevic; his two grandsons Nicholas and Noah, who were his pride and joy; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Ana Boldin and Milka Martinic and brother John Stojkovich.
As per Tony's wishes, a private family funeral and burial has taken place. Memorial donations can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or to St. Anthony of Padua Croatian Roman Catholic Church in Welland where Tony was a founding member.
