Peacefully passed away at St. Peter's Hospital at the age of 90. Loving husband of Milka. Beloved Tata and Deda of Damir, Kelly and family and Drago and family. He is pre-deceased by his father Mile, his mother Kata, brother Slavko and brother-in-law Toma and is survived by his sister Vera and sister-in-law Milka.
He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends in Hamilton, Kitchener, Schumacher and Croatia.
Branko was born in Lika, Stajnica. He met the love of his life, Milka, in Osekovo, Croatia, in 1956 and married shortly after where they enjoyed 64 amazing years together. They moved from Croatia to Schumacher, Ontario in 1968 where Branko's brother Slavko had a big part in helping them move. There, Branko was a gold miner for 17 years at Dome Mines. Branko's sister Vera Perkovic also moved to Canada shortly after to join her brothers.
In 1985, Branko and Milka purchased their dream farm in Grassie, where Branko also built their home where they lived in up until 2018. They made many good friends in Hamilton, Ancaster and Kitchener.
Visitation is at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday August 12, 2021 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11am. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Peter's Hospital.
