Cvetka Horvat, née Maras, passed away on October 23, 2026, at CareOne Assisted Living at The Cupola in Paramus, New Jersey. She was born on October 6, 1935, in Sali, Croatia, and lived a long life marked by faith, dedication, and deep family bonds.
For many years, Cvetka worked as the house manager for Judge Burns and his wife, serving with steady commitment until her retirement. She was also a devout Roman Catholic, and her faith remained an abiding presence throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Jean Marie Horvat, and his spouse, Sarah; by her grandson, Gianni Nikko Horvat; by her granddaughter, Solea Gabrielle Horvat; and by her sister, Anka Maras. In the love of her family, and in the generations that follow her, her memory will continue to be cherished with gratitude and affection.
Cvetka was preceded in death by her brother, Ante Maras; her sister, Anka Gribin,Janja Maras,Pavica Fučko; her father, Anzalo Maras; and her mother,Bosilijka Rudan. Their memory remained part of the story of her life, and she now rests with those who went before her.
