Cynthia Ann (Polic) Jenkins passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021. She was born on September 2, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents were of Croatian and Italian descent. At age 11, her mother and her younger brother Lenny moved to Los Angeles.
She graduated from George Washington High School in 1956. She was a member of the Serviettes Tennis Club, and the Girls Athletics Association (GAA). She then worked at Los Angeles City Hall in the Controller's Office, and was a member of St. Michael's La Monte Club. She married in 1960, and had four children.
The family lived in Manhattan Beach before moving to Torrance in the early 1970's. Cynthia was active in her church, her childrens' activities, running, walking, tennis, sailing, knitting, cooking, and camping. After raising her children, Cynthia returned to work as an Executive Office Assistant in the aerospace industry. She was part of Christian Family Movement, Second Journey, and the Slip Stitchers Knitting Guild. Cynthia stayed close to her Croatian and Michigan roots.
She had an amazing spirit of adventure. She traveled with her family, her old high school friends, and the El Segundo Senior Club. She enjoyed hosting a picnic in the park or a wonderful gourmet meal at home. She was a big Clippers basketball fan, and she enjoyed reading Debbie Macomber novels. She loved going to theatre and musical performances. Cynthia loved her home at Park Vista in El Segundo.
She was always willing to lend a hand to fellow residents. Cynthia was full of life and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and knitting with her friends.
She is survived by her children Julie (Bob), Keith (Ieva), Pamela (Larry) and Brian, grandchildren Ryan Jenkins, Sam Jenkins, Max Jenkins, Melanie Heron, and Lauren Jenkins, and her cousins Claudia (Frank), Janet, Paul (Sue), Ilario (Olga) and Flavio (Penny).
