With deep sorrow the family of Diana Delost announces her peaceful passing at the age of 98 years on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Golden Manor Home for the Aged. Predeceased by her beloved husband John in 1987, her parents Matthew and Frances Pavlakovich, and her sister Mary Tenke (late John).
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Shirley Deleurant (Ralph), Linda Squarzolo (Tullio), Margaret Johns (Gordon), and John Delost (Joyce). Also left to mourn are her beloved grandchildren, David Squarzolo (Kari), Michael Squarzolo, Melanie Squarzolo (Michael Zanini), Christina Deleurant (Gilbert Racine), Catherine Mason (Shawn), Steven Johns, Shannon Johns, Julie Metaxas (Chris), and Andrea Delost (Luc Fortin). Diana will be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, John (Taylor), Emily, Matthew, Joshua, Jacob, Natalie, Ava, Danica, Dario, Audrey, Lauren, Natalia, Kellen, Florence, Farah, Megan, Jenna. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Born in Vukova Gorica, Croatia in 1927, Danica immigrated to Canada at the age of 9 settling first in Kirkland Lake and then in Schumacher. She and John were married in 1947, and while raising their family, they established their construction business in 1967. Throughout her life, Diana was a devout Roman Catholic living her faith in her words and actions. She was a 60-year member of the Catholic Women’s League.
