Beloved wife of Stjepan (Steve) for 60 years in July. Loving mother of Anthony, Anna Francescangeli (Massimo) and Stefanie Marinich-Lee (Christopher). Cherished Baba of Brittany, Jordan and Lindsay.
Dear sister of Marica Pecaric (John), Victor Gojak and Zvonko Gojak (Ann-Britt). Predeceased by her brothers, Victor (aged 7 years), Stjepan Gojak (Marica) and her sister Katica Spehar (Juraj).
Danica will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends in Canada, Australia and Croatia. Navigating an ill loved one during Covid-19 has been especially challenging.
The family wishes to thank all the Nurses, Doctors and PSW staff who assisted Danica, with a special credit to Anna Francescangeli who moved into the family home to care for her mother and father with love and devotion. She played the role of daughter, sister, mother, wife and the sole caregiver of our beloved Danica till her last breath.
We are forever thankful for your devotion during this time. It brings us an overwhelming sense of peace that Danica was alongside her family through her entire journey to heaven.
Due to COVID-19, all events are restricted to a specified number of attendees. Please RSVP in advance for visitation by calling 905-547-1121. Visitors are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Visitation at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday from 2- 5 pm and 6 - 9 pm. Immediate family only Funeral Mass and Cemetery service.
The Funeral Mass will be available to view on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:30 am by logging on to Holy Cross Croatian RC Church Facebook page: www.facebook.com/holycrosscroatian. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Holy Cross Croatian RC Church, or to Muscular Dystrophy Canada via the funeral home.
