Dominic Anthony Dulcich was born June 3, 1927 to Antonette M. and Frank M. Dulcich who emigrated from what was then called Yugoslavia and is now Croatia. Dominic was born in their home in southeast Portland, Ore., and died peacefully the evening of Nov. 4, 2023 after a long beautiful life.

Dominic was drafted into the Army Air Corps in 1945. After serving, he came home to help his father in the family business, Pacific Seafood. He worked tirelessly to grow the company and it became his life's work. Dominic made Pacific Seafood a special company that was loved and appreciated by so many who had worked with him and for him.

He was greatly respected because of his honesty, integrity, kindness, generosity of spirit and great sense of humor. Because this was his life's work, he remained fiercely dedicated and worked there physically, mentally and in spirit until the day he died.

Dominic married the "catch of his life," Melba Dulcich June 16, 1951. She also worked tirelessly side by side with her husband for over 40 years in the business with the same fierce dedication and loyalty.

Dominic did not have a hobby; his work was his hobby. It really was his life, but he occasionally enjoyed traveling as he got older. He and Melba had many fantastic trips with their best friends, Pat and Jim Lazzeroni. Vacationing in Hawaii became his favorite vacation spot and loved the time he spent there, especially the many years with his grandchildren, Micaela and Nico Bisio. Their happy, often funny memories and joy of that time together with their grandparents will forever be in their hearts.

Dominic was a man of great compassion, generosity and sense of humor. Dominic was always willing to help anyone in need in any way he could. He treated everyone the same no matter who they were. Always gregarious and social, he loved people and was fun loving and positive. His positivity was evident until the day he died.

He never complained and when asked how he was doing, his response was always "Fantastic." He was a true gentleman. Dominic was guided by his faith, a big part of his life which instilled in him integrity and his deep values. We will miss him so much and we will fondly remember his unwavering sense of humor and genuine love for his family and friends.

Dominic is survived by his wife of 72 years, Melba; his sons, Jeff (Lauren) and Frank (Jill); and his daughter, Antonette "Anne" Bisio (Mario). He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Micaela Bisio-Dalton (TJ), Mario Dominic Bisio (Nico), Dominic and Charles Dulcich. Also, his sister, Mary Frances Obradovich; and his brother, Vince Dulcich (predeceased) (Donna Mary) along with many nieces and nephews. We are all so thankful for our fond memories and time with him!
