In Memory of Dragica (Carol) Naglic, age 91, went to her eternal home on August 22, 2024. She was born in Brusane, Lika, Croatia on April 9,1933 to Milan & Marija Abramovic.

She had a happy childhood on their farm with her family until the outbreak of World War 2. Her family fled their home to escape communism and spent six years in a refugee camp before coming to America in 1951.

Dragica was married to Ivan Naglic (deceased) and was a beloved Mother to eleven children who adored her: Mary Petrak (John), Kathy Sergo (Milan, deceased), John (deceased), Violet Medic (Jadran), Michael, Anthony, Annie Rasile (Scott, deceased), Veronica, Carol Wise (Lee), Mark, & Angela Rupcic (Anthony).

She was a loving Baka to thirteen grandchildren & eighteen great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ana Dzanko (Filip, deceased) and the following deceased Fr. Joseph Abramovic, Mara Vukosavic (Nikola), George Abramovic & Violet Pavic (Anton). Dragica was a loving aunt and had many relatives in Croatia. She had a 'sweet' job at the famous Hough Bakeries before retiring in 1992, giving her more time to watch her grandchildren and spend time with her family.

Dragica loved tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She loved traveling with her children and made numerous pilgrimages to Mother Angelica’s Shrine in Alabama, resulting in being concecrated to Jesus through Mary.

She watched the daily Mass on EWTN. Dragica was creative and her poem was featured in a Mother’s Day edition of the Croatian Catholic Magazine, Glasnik, with an article and photo of her and her large family. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta read the magazine and wrote an evangelical letter congratulating her & wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day.

Dragica was a long-time parishioner of St. Paul’s Croatian Catholic church. She was married there over 72 years ago, and the church is where her large family gathered for so many baptisms, communions, confirmations, weddings & other life events. She would look forward to attending Mass every week.

'Our Mom faced her recent health challenges bravely & with a deep faith in God. We love you dear Mama & Baka. You are the strongest woman we have ever known & we are all better because of you. God Bless your soul & may it soar to heaven with the angels and saints. We will miss you immensely & will carry you forever in our hearts'.
