Durdica Blaic Glumac, 91, of San Francisco, passed away on March 16, 2023. Durdica (also known as 'Georgia' to her friends), was born October 3, 1931, in Zagreb, Croatia.

Durdica emigrated to Italy in the 1950's where she worked as a translator at the American Embassy, and soon thereafter emigrated to the United States. She worked in banking in New York and Chicago, eventually making her way to Los Angeles, then San Francisco, with her husband Dick, where she raised two daughters, Marie (Mimi) Violet and Lori Ann.

Durdica always loved San Francisco and felt right at home in her adopted city. The City's European charm, architecture, culture, vistas, and natural beauty reminded her of her native Croatia. Durdica loved life and lived it to the absolute fullest. She spent her time cooking, singing, entertaining, attending the ballet, symphony, and opera, and traveling as much as possible.

She loved to walk every day to keep in shape, visit with friends and merchants in the neighborhood, and never tired of the beauty of the Marina District where she lived for almost 60 years. She served as a volunteer at local hospitals and museums, donated generously to her favorite charities, and worked as a consumer rights advocate at KRON-4 for many years. Everywhere Durdica went, people knew her.

She lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was as generous as she was charming, elegant, stylish, and poised with a heart of gold, and always had a great story to tell. She was, and will forever remain, an unforgettable, larger than life personality, who called everyone "darling." And no matter what life threw her way, in her words, "she never gave up, and she never forgot those she loved."

Durdica will be missed greatly by all those she loved, and all who loved her. She was predeceased by her father Josip, mother Marija, and her sisters Biserka and Zdenka. She is survived by her daughters Marie (Mimi) Violet and Lori Ann, and those she loved.
