It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Ferdinand (Ferdo) Kulis. Ferdinand passed away peacefully on March 25, 2023 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with his wife and children by his side.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Vlatka of 54 years and their children Kata, Mila, Antonia (Tiho) and Ivan. He was the proud grandfather to Viktoria, Nicole, Emma and Benjamin who he absolutely loved and adored.
He will be greatly missed by his brother Kruno (Ljiljana), nephews Ivan (Ana), and Mario (Dijana) with their children who were by his side throughout, his sister Ljubica (Hrvoja) with their family, along with all of his family, friends and kumovi in Canada, Croatia, Bosnia Hercegovina and Germany.
Ferdinand was born on February 22, 1946 in Livno, BiH. He married the love of his life Vlatka on March 15, 1969. Together, in 1970, at the young ages of 24 and 18 they immigrated to Toronto, Canada where they settled and started their life together. He devoted himself to ensuring his family was always safe, protected and had everything they wanted, needed and then some.
He truly enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and kumovi. He also loved listening to music, soccer, hunting, fishing, the outdoors. He was known for being a jokester who loved to laugh and even more so make others laugh. Each day he would call those dear to him to say “hello” and check on them. He had an enormous heart of gold and was incredibly selfless and always so quick to help others. To know him was to love him. He will be missed beyond belief. We take comfort knowing that he is at peace and watching over us from heaven….rest in peace, until me met again.
