Frank Lozica of San Pedro, CA, died at home peacefully. Born in Lumbarda, Korcula, Croatia, Frank was the second of five children.
At 18, he escaped to Italy, worked in Canada, then came to live in San Pedro. In 1964, he met Marica Matulic in San Pedro, married 9 months later, sharing 53 years together with their three daughters and six grandchildren, until Marica passed in 2017, his true love.
Frank was the hardest working, giving, and humble man. He attended CSULA and earned his degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, while working in his auto repair shop.
He then worked at Todd Shipyard, San Pedro Peninsula & Kaiser Hospitals. He enjoyed bus trips to the casinos and fishing in Alaska. He retired at 62 and was able to enjoy time at home with Marica.
He is survived by his three daughters Diane (Troy) Slome, Frances (Rick) Vangrin, Mary (Salvatore) Russo; six grandchildren Sabine, Taylor, Sal, Chloe, Andrew and Ella; sister Ivica; families Rancic, Matulic, Bijelic, Purpura, & Masnov.
