Helen was born January 10, 1922, in Washington, one of 13 children to Anton and Filipina Krajacic, who were Croatian immigrants. She married John Kovacicek September 25, 1943, and they were happily married until his death in 1987.

In her free time, Aunt Helen enjoyed flower gardening as well.
While having no children of their own, Helen and John, also known as Uncle Fats, were much loved by nieces, Judy Kovacicek, Kathy Beck; and nephew, David Karpan, whom they helped raise following the death of their mother, Helen's younger sister, Barb.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, and great- nephews. Deceased are seven sisters, Barbara Karpan, Katherine Krajacic, Mary Bologa, Anna Powell, Mildred Krajacic, Stella March, Julia Dunkovich; and five brothers, Tony, John, Mike, Frank, and Steve Krajacic. All services are private and entrusted to the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Directors, Inc., 420 Locust Avenue, Washington.
