It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivan “John” Basich at the age of 94, born on Aug 1, 1926 in Konjsko Brdo, Perusic, Lika, Croatia. Ivan passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 26, 2021. Our beloved husband and father will always be remembered by his loving wife of 73 years Anka, and children Mary and Kata. Ivan was a proud man who loved his family and his Croatian heritage. Humble and brave, courageous and strong to the end. Prayers and Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 9th, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish, 3105 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, BC. Special thanks to Dr. Karim Harjee for taking such good care of Dad. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We love you Tata, Rest in Peace.
