It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ivan Stipic, at the young age of 27, on Monday, February 20th. Beloved husband of Danka Stipic (Miljak) and beloved son of Maria Stipic (Beljo) and Tim Stipic. Dearly loved and missed by his brother Daniel and sister Natalia, Danka’s parents, Dragica (Kobas) and Danko Miljak and his brother-in-laws Deni and Anthony. He also had a very special bond with a large extended family and close friends.
Ivan was overjoyed to have married the love of his life, Danka, this past June, after 11 years of dating. It was a fairy tale in the making, a life and love so beautiful that words cannot describe. They were high school sweethearts, inseparable, who have grown up together and built a beautiful life together. The depth and breadth of their relationship was evident to all who witnessed their tender love from afar. They nurtured their love, devotion, and respect for one another every day. Danka and Ivan experienced a lifetime of love and special moments together that will live on forever!
Ivan was the best son you could ever ask for - a dream come true! We have been incredibly blessed as his parents, and we are very proud of him. Ivan always knew the right path forward, guided by his compass of strong faith and unwavering integrity. Ivan was his brother Daniel’s best friend - they were always so close and did everything together. To his sister Natalia, “Ivan is her rock, her everything”. Ivan has always been a source of strength to our family, a calming and confident influence. We will draw on his caring and uplifting spirit to help us navigate the difficult path forward with courage and grace.
Ivan was happiest when spending time with family and friends. Energized by those around him, he was a connector, a people-person, “the glue that kept us all together”. He cherished the simple things in life, lived every moment and his life with purpose. “Life lessons were learned from Ivan’s example”. Ivan cherished everything Croatian – church, soccer, kolo, festivals, dances, soccer tournaments, banquets, concerts, world cups, trips to Croatia. He was a proud Croatian truly uplifted by the feeling of community and sense of belonging. Ivan thrived in nature and cherished spending time outdoors, fishing and camping. Music was a big part of Ivan’s life and energized him. He was always humming a tune, playing his guitar, and listening to music. We’ll have to picture those joyous moments with Ivan, when the silence sets in.
Kind, caring and generous are words that describe Ivan. He lived those qualities even in his passing, by giving the “gift of life” through organ donation to four people on Family Day. Family Day has always been special to our family and Ivan’s last kind gesture has elevated it even more. We are so proud of Ivan in every way possible, from every angle that you look at him and his life.
The Memory of Ivan will be our treasure forever!
May He Rest in Eternal Peace
