He is survived by his wife Ankica (Ana) Hlade, who he was married to for 54 years. Born August 25, 1944 in Skukani, Croatia, he was the son of Mijo and Barka Hlade.
Janko was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marica (Maria) Sirkovic. He is survived by his wife Ana, son Ivica (John), grandson Kyle and sister Donna Spudic. As well as many nieces and nephews. Janko and Ana were married June 11, 1967.
Janko and family immigrated to Kansas City in November of 1973, resided on Strawberry Hill for many years. Janko worked as a warehouseman for many years and the Housing Authority of KCK where he retired from.
