He was born in Pula, Croatia on March 15, 1942. As a teenager, Joe escaped communism by foot to Italy then by sea to Canada. Joe was a certified skilled electrician when he left Croatia. He worked in Quebec and Ontario where he met and married Linda (Olah). In 1971, they moved to Naples, Florida and soon obtained citizenship. Joe had a highly successful electrical/contractor's business for many years until retirement.
As a hobby Joe enjoyed making wine every year. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing out on the Gulf. He was an avid soccer and tennis player and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at all their spot practices and games.
Joe is survived by his former wife, Linda; son, Brian; daughter, Lissette; grandchildren, Tynley and Kai; brother, Ferdinand and sister, Sonja, both in Pula, Croatia. He was pre-deceased by his father, Abram; mother, Zora; brother, Romano and step-father, Ivan Percic.
