It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Yamich announces his passing on Sunday, August 22 at the age of 86 years.
Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his children Mark (Suzanne) and Kara (Paul) along with his grandchildren Victoria, Jacqueline, Samuel and Katie and the late Mary Sarich Yamich.
Joe was born in Val d'Or, Quebec in 1935 to Croatian immigrants Frank and Mary Yamich (predeceased) and brother to the late Frank Yamich (Mary predeceased), the late Mary Grivich (Michael predeceased), Helen Rowan (Terry predeceased) and Dorothy Yamich (Rick predeceased).
Joe was a "favorite uncle" to many nieces and nephews. Joe was a proud resident and businessman of Oakville. From his early days running the family Esso station at Speers and Kerr to building several homes in downtown Oakville, Joe was a well known man around town. In his latter years he lived at Post Inn Village where he truly loved the staff. The family would like to thank them for their passionate care throughout the years.
Visitation will take place at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr Street) August 27, 2021, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral mass to take place August 28, 2021, 10:30 a.m. St. James Catholic Church. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke foundation.
