Josephine "Josie" Porobic of San Pedro passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021, at the age of 94. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Branko Porobic, and her three children, Anthony Zabica, George Zabica, and Frances Zabica.
She is survived by her grandson, Michael Abshire, nephews John Kuselj and Steve Cesareo, and nieces, Andrea Cesareo and Claire Cesareo.
Josie was born in San Pedro, California, to George and Frances Rosin of Croatia, on February 25, 1926, and was raised by her father and stepmother, Klara Rosin, with her sisters, Frances Kuselj and Geraldine Cesareo.
She lived most of her life in San Pedro, but also spent many years living and traveling in Europe. She will be remembered by family and friends for her effervescent personality, creative spirit, and loving nature.
A private family ceremony and internment will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Green Hills Memorial Park.
