Jure passed away on October 26 2021 in his home in North Vancouver. He is survived by his two children, Iva and Michael Kulic.
He was born on April 13th, 1946, in the small village of Gala, Croatia, to Josip and Iva Kulic, being the youngest of their 8 children. The family lived a simple yet unyielding life working hard by harvesting vegetables and crops and raising farm animals. As a young man, he served the navy for 2 years, then worked as an apprentice electrician on the shipyards of Split, Croatia, coming home to Gala and family on weekends.
He made the move from Croatia to Vancouver in 1968 at 22 years old, to be with his older brother Tony. He began learning English and working as a dishwasher in his early days, soon after he started his journey as an electrician with the IBEW. His joys in life were raising his two children, playing tennis, gardening in his backyard, enjoying sports, and keeping the Croatian traditions he grew up doing.
