It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jure who passed away peacefully in the morning of January 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Milka, three children, Mirjana (Maryann), Tony, Mark and grandchildren Fabian, Ana, TJ, Joe, Nicole and Tomas.
Jure was born in Dugopolje, Croatia and immigrated to Vancouver, B.C. in the later 1950’s. While visiting his homeland in 1964 he married his love, Milka, who joined him the following year. Jure was an electrician by trade who worked for I.B.E.W. Local 344 & Local 213.
He was also a well-respected and successful builder of luxury homes. His impeccable work ethic, integrity, wisdom, strength and love not only supported his immediate family but extended family and friends throughout his life.
The family is grateful for the loving care of his doctors and the nurses and support staff at Burnaby Home Health. A special thank you to family and friends for their prayers during this most difficult time.
A private family Mass and burial will take place in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Jure’s family parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary in Vancouver.
