It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katherine (Kathy) Bobnic nee: Sigal/St. John, on March 23, 2022 at Credit Valley Hospital, in Mississauga.
Kathy will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Stanislav (Stan), whom she was married to for 30 years. Her children Thomas St. John (partner Carolyn), Debora Jensen (husband David), Larry St. John (Fiancée Janet), and step-children Stan Bobnic, Rosemarie Tarasenko (husband Steve) and daughter-in-law Sonia Pavcnik, to whom she was a sincerely loving and devoted mother.
Kathy was also a very proud Grandmother (Baba) to Kurtiss Jensen, Jordan Bobnic and Kristian Bobnic, which she loved immensely.
Kathy was born in Vukovar, Croatia on October 26, 1934 were she was the cherished youngest child of 4 children (Josip (Joe), Franjo (Frank) and Hela Untch, to parents Marija and Anton (Tony) Sigal.
Kathy was a hardworking, honest, sharp-minded, classy lady. Her easy going and fun loving nature allowed her to collect adoring compliments and sincere accolades from anyone that crossed her path. She was often deemed to be the “favourite” in many circumstances.
She loved helping others and was always sincere in her advice and suggestions. Kathy was known for having open arms and a loving hug, where everyone was welcome. She was a huge advocate of family gatherings, that included lots of home cooking and fresh baking.
A true leader by example, never expecting more of others than she was willing to do herself. She was a devout catholic and attended the parish of St. John of the Cross in Mississauga.
