Louis J. Vlasic Jr., 79, of Milford, beloved husband of Claire Cooper Vlasic, passed away on January 14, 2023. Born December 28, 1943 in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, he was the son of late Louis S. Vlasic Sr. and Maria Novak Vlasic of Bridgeport.

Louis emigrated from Yugoslavia to Bridgeport when he was 8 years old. He enlisted in the Air Force shortly after his high school graduation and traveled the world. After serving in the Air Force, he continued to be active in the reserves for many years.

After his military discharge, Lou became a customer service representative for Connecticut National Bank. It was there that he met his wife of 41 years, Claire Cooper, as he helped her with a transaction. They were married on September 5, 1981 and moved to Milford in 1991.

Lou loved sports. He and Claire joined a community baseball team and bowling league. He was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles, teams that were local to where Claire was born and raised. Lou also loved driving. After retiring, he often took driving gigs transporting cars to Florida or elsewhere. His personal vehicles were always well maintained.

Claire was the love of Lou's life but his second greatest love was his succession of golden retrievers: Quincy, Bronson, and Rufus.

Lou was a loyal, kind, and playful person. He will be forever missed.
