Luca Matijevic, age 85, of Willoughby Hills, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 16, 1941, in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the late Ilija and Ljuba Badrov.
Luca was a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and profound devotion to her family. Her life was rooted in her heritage and the warm, welcoming home she created. Above all, she was the proud and devoted matriarch who found her greatest joy in the lives of her children and grandchildren, always putting family first.
Luca is survived by her devoted husband, Stijepan Matijevic of 56 years; her loving daughter, Mariana (Tomislav) Vazdar; and her daughter-in-law, Sandy Matijevic. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Tomislav, Kristian, Ava, and Mia. She is also survived by her loving sister, Anica (Stipe) Krivic, and her brother, Blaz (Agata) Badrov, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends across the globe in Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Canada, Australia, and Germany.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tony Matijevic; her parents, Ilija and Ljuba Badrov; and several dear brothers and sisters.
