After a long and full life, and surrounded by her loving family, Manda Markovich passed away peacefully on April 10, 2022 at the age of 99. Born in Licki Osik, Croatia, Manda with her family settled in Port Colborne in 1951.
Beloved and dedicated wife of the late Joe Markovich (1982), loving mother of Mandy Odrcich (Steve), John Markovich (Anna), and Nick Markovich (Debbie). She was also a proud and loving Baba of five grandchildren: Tracy Mage (Steve); Stefi Markovich; John Markovich (Tara); Cindy Toth (Derek); and Kristen Dean (Mark). In her later years, we were further blessed to see her many loving interactions with her great-grandchildren; Lauren Mage, Matthew Markovich, Danica Toth, and Frances Dean, all whom affectionately referred to her as 'Baba-Baba."
Manda was a long-time member of St. Therese Lisieux Parish in Port Colborne. Devoted to her family, Manda always valued the many social gatherings together, sharing in stories, laughter, and of course many traditional Croatian dishes. More than the many recipes, Manda shared her love with her family in the most honest and genuine way presented through her selfless devotion as a mother and baba. Through her example, she taught us all the importance of love and family.
As an extension of our gratitude, Manda's family would like to sincerely thank the excellent care provided by the professional staff at Northland Pointe Retirement Home in Port Colborne.
Mama and Baba will be greatly missed and her legacy will live on through her family.
