With much love and sadness, we share the passing of our beloved wife, Mama, and Baka, Maria Krilanovich on May 20th, 2021. Mama was surrounded by her family as she passed peacefully into the loving hands of our Lord.
Maria was a kind, strong and compassionate woman. Our family was blessed to have her in our lives. Mama shared and instilled in us an unwavering faith in God, love of family, and taught us to cherish and uphold our Croatian-Konavolske traditions. She was always willing to lend a hand, and was a hard-working and true friend to many. She lives on in our memories and in our hearts.
Maria was predeceased by her parents: Miho and Nike Arbulić (née Drobac). She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mike; daughter, Elaine (Angelo) Čikeš; son, Stephen (Emily) Krilanovich; grandchildren Juliet, Aria, and Rhys; brothers Ante (Luce) and Milo (Vesna) Arbulić; sister Luce (Pavo) Krilanović; nieces and nephews Stijepo, Milo, Nives, Michael, Marijana, Michaela and Vlaho; and many more family in Canada, Croatia and Argentina.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Maria’s name to the Parkinson Society of British Columbia. Mama battled this disease for the last 20 years of her life, research is vitally needed to find a cure. Thank you to the amazing caregivers and staff at St. Jude’s Home who provided our family incredible support for the last 7+ years.
Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on June 1st, 10:30 am, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish. In compliance with Provincial COVID guidelines, the mass will be a private family service. The church will Livestream the mass at: https://www.facebook.com/gospavancouver.
