With broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Marica Leš, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 71.
We are grateful to God that she was surrounded by family, love, and prayer in her final moments.
Marica was born on July 18, 1953 in Croatia, to Franjo and Ana Škarjak. She was predeceased by her brother Janko (wife Mira) and is survived by her dear brother Jura (wife Marija) in Croatia and her nieces and nephews. She was the devoted and loving wife of Božidar Leš for 50 years. Together they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, family, and hard work.
She will be forever cherished and missed by her children: her son Edward Leš and his wife Vicki, along with their children Owen and Charlotte; her daughter Renata Jašek and her husband Radim, with their children Alana, Luka, and Jakub; her daughter Melissa Leš; and her youngest son Tomislav Leš and his wife Julia, together with their daughter Sienna.
“Baka Marica” was happiest when she was with her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. She will be remembered for her delicious home cooking, joyful baking, her tender care of her garden, and her love of crossword puzzles.
Marica was a woman of deep Catholic faith and a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Croatian Parish. Her quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on in all of us.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the PSWs and palliative care team at Dr. Bob Kemp's Hospice for their exceptional compassion and care. We are also grateful to Father Marko for spiritual support during her final days.
