Marija (Maria) Domenica Crivici, was born in Loznati, Cres, Croatia on November 29th, 1934, and found peace on October 19th, 2023 at Cottage House Hospice in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Predeceased by her husband of almost fifty years, Ive. She is leaving behind a legacy of love, spirit, feistiness and many cherished memories. She is survived by her adoring sons; John and Joseph (Traci) and her grandchildren, Adriana (Cory), Nick (Amber), and Christina (Jared), and extended family in Croatia, Italy and France.
Maria experienced all spectrums of life, in her 88 years as a first-generation Canadian. She will be remembered for her exceptional homemaking skills, including her delicious gnocchi, chicken strips, and palacinke. She had a unique talent for sewing her own clothes, gardening on Parker Street, and loved adorning herself with heartfelt gold jewelry.
However, she was never opposed to her signature socks and sandals, paired with her cozy robes and PJ’s; the epitome of comfort. Her home was a haven, kept immaculate, with only “invited” guests allowed upstairs (unless it was her grandchildren sneaking upstairs to play!).
Marigolds and Fuchsia flowers will forever remind us of her. Quick with an opinion she will be dearly missed, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
