It is with deep sadness that we share that longtime parishioner, Marija Vukojević, passed away at home on Monday, 10/10/22 at 4:44pm surrounded by her loving family.
Marija was born in Zagorje-Posušje, Hercegovina Croatia on May 14, 1950. She is survived by her loving husband Milenko of 49 1/2 years, her four children Anna (Jeremy), Mark, Mate (Debbie) and Angie (Pajo), her twelve grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins here in the US, Germany and Croatia, and an incredible number of friends that she called family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, sister, sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws and her so beloved daughter-in-law Erin.
Marija spent her final four days at home after her painful 16-month battle with Leukemia. She had so many family and friends visit her bedside on Saturday and Sunday where she had miraculous feats of strength. She had a huge smile on her face while telling stories, praying, giving her loving advice to all, and wished everyone lots of love and thanked them for loving her and her family. She also shed tears knowing that she was also saying farewell but definitely not goodbye.
She truly touched so many people’s lives and treated everyone like her own. Life will never be the same without her but we are blessed with a new angel to guide and watch over us.
