Marko Bilic passed away peacefully at Newport Harbour Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the age of 83 years. He was born on September 10, 1937 in Novo Selo (near Bosanskog Broda) Bosnia-Hercegovina.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Snezana (Suzanne) Nielsen and son-in-law Michael Nielsen; his son Douglas Bilic and daughter-in-law Dubravka Bilic, his grandchildren Brandon Nielsen (Alycia Johnson) and Sheldon Nielsen. He had eight siblings and is survived by three: his sister Vikica Dakovic and family in Melbourne, Australia, his sister Ruzica Hulicar and family in Croatia and his brother Adolf Bilic and family in Croatia. Marko will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Marko was predeceased by his wife Marica “Maria” Bilic in 2014.
