Born on July 11, 1947 in the village of Berdik, Croatia and raised in Zumberak, Croatia. Marko was a proud member of the Croatian National Home (CNH) and amateur cellist with Hrvatsko Srce tambura group. Marko enjoyed a successful career as a talented and skilled electrician for nearly 40 years and an IBEW 353 brother. Marko enjoyed his many hobbies in gardening, winemaking and woodworking; even making a few tamburas. He was an accurate bowler, avid golfer, creative handyman and of course a reliable joke teller and prankster. His antics and sharp comedic remarks will be missed by all his family and friends in the Croatian community.
Marko is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marijana (nee Pirsic), his daughter Marlene Jandricic and her spouse Eric Greene (daughters Katelyn and Katrina Greene), son Mark and his wife Sarah Jandricic (and their dog Hank, aka “Ken” which was Marko’s other name for him). He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Zjelko Pirsic in 2020, aunt Zlata Godler (nee Danicic) in 2023, his parents Petar and Barbara (nee Berdik) Jandricic and his in-laws Antun and Katica (nee Danicic) Pirsic in Croatia so many years ago.
Additionally, Marko is survived by his siblings and nephews and nieces. Brother Petar & Vera, children Hilary, Gregory and Veronica (Trevor) Kernaghan; sister Njevenaka & Milan Bradica, son Marko (Hoda); sister in Germany, Marica & Mladen Belleg, daughters Marina (Markus and son Marvin) Falken and Martina; brother in Croatia, Zlatko & Biserka, children Petra (Vlatko & children Dora & Petar) Materny, Tomislav and Luka. He will be missed by his aunt and uncle Frank & Dragica Berdik, who welcomed him when he immigrated to Canada in 1968 and his cousins Frankie Berdik & Marianne (Robert) Emili, their children Adam, Adria and his many cousins in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Australia and Croatia.
Marko is also survived by his sisters-in-law Darinka (nee Pirsic) & Miljenko Crnic, sister-in-law Maria Pirsic and his nephews and nieces in Croatia, Goran (Ivana, their children Antun & Lucija) in Switzerland, and Miljenko (Sanja, their children Maja & Sven) and in Canada, Zeljko Kovacevic (Pirsic), Ivana Pirsic, and the rest of Marijana’s extended family in Canada, the US, Argentina and Croatia.
