It is with profound grief and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, father in law, brother in law, uncle, Kum and friend, Marko, on the morning of December 4, 2024.

Marko was born in Prović, Croatia to Šime and Tereža. In 1972, Marko emigrated to Canada where he met and married his adored wife Marija. Then, in 1974, Marko and Marija moved from Windsor to Victoria where together they started their new life.

Marko was deeply committed to his family, Kumovi, friends and the Croatian Community. As a devoted Roman Catholic, Marko believed in the power of togetherness and the importance of supporting one another. His actions spoke louder than words, inspiring us all to be better, to give more, and to cherish the moments with our loved ones. A life lived with integrity and honesty.

Marko's dedication to his work as a plumber for over 50 years was second to none. He was a professional who took immense pride in his craft, always ensuring that every job was done to the highest standard. It wasn't just his skill that set him apart, but rather the warmth and sincerity with which he approached his work and the people he served. He treated every home he entered as if it were his own and every client as a friend.

Known as "OMK" (Old Man Kardum) to many of his children's friends, Marko was always there!

Marko had a deep love for the great outdoors. Hunting was not just a pastime for him, it was his way of connecting with nature and making memories with his sons and his friends. His stories of adventures in the wild will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Marko will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Marija; along with his daughter Tina (Joe); sons Denis (Maria); and Marko (Berry and Maca); his sister Milka; predeceased by his brother Jole; his brother Branko (Ana); and sister Bojana (Roman). His grandchildren; Kristian, Karlo, Melania, Andreja, Mila and Nicola, along with numerous family members from all over the world.

Neka ti je laka Hrvatska zemlja. Pokoj vječni daruj Gospodine i svetlost vječna svijetlila njemu. Amen
