It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend, parishioner and proud member of our Croatian community, Mate Gerić.
Beloved husband of Branka for 60 wonderful years. Loving father of Martin, Dominic, and Diana (Nathan) Ternes. Treasured grandfather of Bianca, Brianna (Thomas) Schimp, Mia, Collin, Dominic, Nina, Lincoln, Taryn. Dearest brother of the late Marica, Danica, Ivan, Drago, Barica, and Blazenka. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mate came to the U.S. in 1972 from Croatia. He was an integral part of the Croatian community. He held many roles at St. Lucy Church and was a founding member of the Croatian American Cultural Center and the Soccer Club. His love for soccer could be seen through the years of his playing, coaching and watching his children and grandchildren play. His presence will be truly missed.
