He was born to the late Peter and Zora (nee Petrak) Krcmaric on February 22, 1930. He was the beloved husband of the late Norma (Ballon) and preceded in death by many of his loved ones including his stepfather George Macan, siblings George (Vicki) Krcmaric, Peter (Winnie) Krcmarich, Charles (Mary) Krcmaric, Irene (Joseph Jurich and Charles) Batchelor, Sister Mary Angela OSF, Edward Krcmaric, Robert (Helen) Krcmaric, Helen (Donald) Wass, John Krcmaric, and Richard Krcmaric.
Matt was the dear brother-in-law to Arlene Krcmaric, Betty Krcmaric, Judy Krcmaric, and Mary Lou and Douglas Flynn. He was an adored uncle and so loved by several generations of many nieces and nephews.
Matt, born in Chicago, IL, attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and St. Francis DeSales High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic.
In the summer of 1958, Matt married Norma Ballon, with whom he spent 52 wonderful years. Norma taught elementary education in the Chicago Public School system while Matt worked as a mechanic at Ashland Chemical, until their retirements. He was enthusiastic about his model cars, gifting many to loved ones, delighted in cooking and creating recipes, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed socializing with many friends.
Matt was a devout Catholic who loved God above all. Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church was an extremely special place to Matt and Norma as they sang in the choir for many years and were involved in many clubs and societies.
Matt will be missed by all who knew him as he was loved for his quick wit, kindness, and generosity, and would always bring a smile to your face with his positive attitude and humorous stories. And, while he leaves behind so many here on earth, he is joyfully reunited with his loved ones in Heaven. If you're ever missing Matt, just look for a red cardinal and know that he is close by. Zivio!
