Michael Zdenko Kucan passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, surrounded by members of his loving family. Michael was the cherished husband of Linda Fuerst, his partner in life for 36 wonderful years, devoted father of John (the late Carmen Belcredi) and Ryan (Viara Stoyanova), and proud grandfather of Maria. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Katie Mazza (Carmine) and nephews Patrick (Cathy), Christopher (Valeria), and Michael Mazza (Jennifer Sousa).
Born in Croatia, Michael spent the first seven years of his life there before immigrating to Canada. He quickly developed a passion for hockey, a sport he continued to play, enjoy, and coach for as long as he was able. A devoted car enthusiast, Michael could often be found in the garage working on a project, always eager to learn, tinker, and lend a hand. He took pride in fixing things himself and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with family and friends.
What set Michael apart was his ability to bring people together. He had a gift for connecting with others, regardless of their background or circumstances, and could make anyone feel welcome. Known for his quick wit and sense of humour, Michael loved making people laugh. His warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others helped him form lasting friendships throughout his life. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends.
