Mike leaves behind his devoted wife of almost 58 years, Barbara, loving only daughter Diane and her husband Henry Marfisi and the joys of his life, his grandchildren Christopher and Julianna Marfisi.
Mike came from a very large family, he was born in Croatia May 7, 1941 and moved to Canada in 1961. Mike was the much loved brother of Nevenka (Mirko) Protulipac, Slavo (Ljubica) Jagusic, Maca (late Ludvig) Zvonar, Danica (Ivan) Cvitak, Ljubica (John) Zefkic and brother in law of Ana Jagusic.
Mike was predeceased by his parents Janko and Marica, siblings Drago Jagusic, Kata (Toma) Bersinic, Josip Jagusic, Barka (Ivan) Baric, Andelka (Ivan) Jefak, parents in law Josip and Danica Maradin, brother in law Drago Maradin and special friends Giovanni and Angela Marfisi. Mike also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Croatia.
Mike retired from Dofasco at the young age of 52 and spent the next 30 years of his life making fitness his passion. He loved walking, biking and swimming at the local pools where he made many friends over the years. Mike was always willing and happy to help his siblings and family members, and help raise two grandchildren, and their furry friends, Oliver and Archie.
Mike will always be remembered for his loving nature, quick wit and sense of humour. Special thanks to Dr. Ralph Profetto for his years of care, and the kind and compassionate nurses and doctors at the Juravinski Hospital ICU.
