Mile “Miča” Cindrić age 85 of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on March 16, 2026. Born in Gnojnice, Croatia on September 3, 1940, he immigrated to Winnipeg with his wife Marija (nee Jurčević) in April 1960. They made a good life for themselves and home for their children. He was a devout Catholic and family meant everything to Mića.

He was a loving and devoted husband (of 66 years), father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather and friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was predeceased by his parents Petar and Manda Cindrić, his brothers Nikola, Joso and his wife Mare, his nephews Pero Cindrić, Josip Cindrić and his brother-in-law Jure Cindrić. He leaves behind his wife Marija, his children Nevenka (Michael), Vera (Chris) and Peter (Joyce).

His grandchildren Natasha (Spiro), Carmen (Jan Phillip), Brandon (Jocelyn), Clayton (Michelle), Christien (Shelby) and Matthew. His great grandchildren Andriana, Zoe, Ayden, Declyn, Levi and Sawyer. His sister Marica, niece Katica (Tony) and great nephews Alex (Aly) and Dennis (Jenna). In Croatia, nephews Milan and Iva. Also of Winnipeg, nephew Franc (Ana), great nieces Mirela (Tristan), Franciska (Johnny) and great, great nephews Emil (Samantha), Gabriel, JJ and Jaxon. Also, the many relatives in Croatia, Canada and the US.

Miča was a carpenter for over 25 years and one of the many people who helped build the St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Church on Main St. and a founding member of the Croatian picnic grounds (Travnik) in St. Andrews. His passion was his garden and his grapevine. Not to forget his talent of making the best smoked meats and roasted pork (pećenje).

He had a contagious smile that lit up every room that he was in. He loved going on family road trips that always turned into an adventure and many a mishap. He loved the outdoors and the best memories are of summers spent at Falcon Lake with the Rendulic Family at their cottage. He also enjoyed the many family Christmas parties and gatherings (where much dancing and singing took place) and all the many events that we will always cherish and fondly remember. As much as he loved animals, he did enjoy fishing and hunting out at English Lake with Franc and the odd schnapps (“samo malo”). He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

We would especially like to thank the many friends and family who came to visit him and brightened his day. A special thanks to Tony and Joyce for helping Vera when needed to get Tata to all his medical appointments. Thank you to the doctors at the Health Sciences Center, the wound care nurses and the home care staff who took care of him at home. To Father Peter, thank you for the hospital visits, your prayers and support at this difficult time. And lastly, a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Johnson, Joanne and all the nurses and care givers on N3 West at Concordia Hospital for their dedicated care and support.
