Miljenko was born in Novalja, Croatia on September 18, 1937, and passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 84 years old. Miljenko is survived by his wife, Patricia of 53 years; his son Tomas (Janice); his daughter Chanel (Seann) and his grandchildren Max, Luka, Lily and Charlie.
He also survived by his sister Mira of Venice, Italy; Slavica of Calgary; and Katica of Vienna, Austria. He is predeceased by his brothers Ivan, Marinko, and Ljubo of Novalja, Croatia. Miljenko spent his childhood and youth in Yugoslavia and served in the Yugoslav Navy for three years.
He immigrated to Calgary, Canada in 1967, where he met his wife, Patricia. They then moved to Tsawwassen in 1977 to be closer to the ocean. He raised his family there for 25 years until retirement, when they moved to Parksville until 2019. For the last two and half years of his life, he lived in White Rock. Miljenko worked as a finishing carpenter all his life, and took much pride in all his work.
Miljenko loved boating and being on the sea. He was often found working on his boat at the marina if not out somewhere on the Georgia Straight. When not on his boat, he loved watching all sports and seeing his grandchildren play baseball.
