Millie Tlachac

Millie was born June 7, 1932 in Brillion, Wisconsin to John and Louise (Remus) Seljan. She was the sixth of eight siblings. Millie was a first generation American, her mother coming from Slovenia and her father from Croatia.

She graduated from New Holstein High School and shortly thereafter met the love of her life. Millie married Adrian Tlachac on June 28, 1952 and were blessed with 64 years of marriage before his passing. They moved with their five children to Carson City in 1964.

Many will remember Millie as their favorite "ding dong lady" as she was an Avon salesperson for over 40 years. She was consistently #1 in sales in her district and was inducted into the Avon President's Honor Society as one of Avon's best.

She was active in St Teresa's School Women's Auxiliary and worked on many fundraisers including the annual St Teresa's Fashion Show. She was a member of the Carson Tahoe Hospital Women's Auxiliary for years.

Millie always said "the more the merrier" and loved it when her large family and circle of friends gathered at their home for a meal. She was famous for her yummy desserts.

She will be greatly missed by her four children; Mary Beth (John) Olson, Lynne (Steve) Gwiazdowski, Jeff (Eve) Tlachac, Gregg (Ila) Tlachac and her daughter-in-law Paula Tlachac; 9 grandchildren, Chris, Sarah, Lindsey, Chad, Jake, Anna, Tori, Austin and Zach; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and her sister Jenny Cordisco.

Millie was preceded in death by her husband Adrian and son Mike.
