He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lauren Connelly.
Born on October 17, 1940, Miro emigrated from the former Yugoslavia, (now Croatia) with his parents, Roco and Mary Marusic, at the age of seven. He grew up in the Chelsea section of New York City. He attended Guardian Angels elementary school and Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. He married his wife Philomena on October 19, 1963. He lived the immigrants American dream, work hard, started his own company and sent his children to college.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Harry was passionate about his New York Giants, Knicks, and Yankees. Through rain, snow, and cold he would cheer on his NY Giants as a season ticket holder for more than 50 years. But above all, his greatest joy came from cheering from the sidelines of his grandchildren’s games. He was their biggest fan—and where he never hesitated to let the referees know when they made a wrong call.
Harry will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, for his unwavering loyalty to his friends. He will be remembered for his “Chelsea—nese” expressions and boundless love for his family. His legacy will live on in stories shared at family gatherings, in the passion for sports he instilled in his children and grandchildren, and in the unshakable bonds he built with those who knew him best.
