Neda, daughter of the late Stijepo Krile and Matija Duracic Krile, was born on February 3, 1945, in Hodilje, Croatia where she spent the first 30 years of her life. In 1974, she immigrated to the United States with her family and made her home in the New Orleans area, where she lived for the rest of her life.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Neda dedicated herself to caring for her family. She cherished spending time outdoors, whether tending to the garden or enjoying the beauty of nature. On occasion, she could even be found aboard the family oyster boat, lending a helping hand in the family business. Though she embraced her life in America, Neda never forgot her Croatian roots. She shared her heritage through the foods she lovingly prepared, especially the traditional Croatian desserts that became treasured family favorites. Holidays were made even more special by the delicious Croatian dishes she prepared. She also found great joy sewing, a skill she learned in Croatia, and in listening to Croatian music, often singing songs that reminded her of home.
Neda was the loving wife of 60 years to the late Miro Mjehovich. Caring mother to Vlaho Mjehovich (Robin) and the late Boris Mjehovich. Grandmother to Graeme and Cole Mjehovich. Sister of Anuska Lovic and the late Ivica Krile.
