Family of Nicholas Marion Zanze announce his passing on September 18, this year. Nick was born in 1934 in Sacramento to Vladimir and Mathilda Zanze both immigrants from Prvik Luka on the coast of Croatia.

Nick was the third of the five Zanze sons. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School and the University of San Francisco, had a brief term in the Merchant Marines as a junior officer sailing on the Lurline to Hawaii and the Mariposa to the South Pacific, but was drafted and served at the Second Army Headquarters at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, later at the Presidio of San Francisco.

After discharge, his wife Brenda and he relocated to Southern California settling in Orange County where he represented companies related to packaging, and in 1970 he and a partner founded Zanco Packaging where he provided plastic packaging supplies to the medical community and corrugated packaging to the defense industry. Zanco Packaging was in business for 35 years.

During those productive years Nick and his family pursued his many interests especially his love of Lake Tahoe where the family had a vacation home for 40 years. He was a patron of the Pacific Symphony, South Coast Reparatory and a season ticket holder of the Angels.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Johnson Zanze, his daughter Linda Marie Flynn (Eric), his son Robert (Irini Akritopoulou) and six cherished grandchildren: Patrick, Michael and Garrett Flynn, and Brenda Zanze Rickards (Harry), Nicholas C. Zanze and Constance Alexia Zanze.
