In Memory of Petar Sugar, 83, of Cleveland, passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 13, 2022. He was born in Sutivanac, Istra, Croatia on July 1, 1938. Petar was so proud of his family and was so prideful on how he built his life up from nothing when he came to America. He worked at MTD for about 35 years. He enjoyed spending his retirement at home relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. He loved the sunshine. He took a lot of pride in his grape vines that he created in his own backyard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Danica; his children: Oriano, Dean (Mary), and Ermelinda (Mike); his grandchildren: Samantha, Michael, Megen, Dean, Angel, and James; great-granddaughters Sophia and Savana; his siblings: Fuma, Anton, Ana, and Slavica; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Anton and Ivanka; and his 7 brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Petar at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28990 Chardon Road (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91), Sunday, January 16 from 1-4pm. Funeral Service at the funeral home on Monday, January 17 at 10am. Interment All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
