Preminuo:22.11.2021. (San Francisco, Kalifornija, Sjedinjene Američke Države)
Dob: 97
In San Francisco on November 22, Peter Cicibrk, age 97, a native San Franciscan, and son of the late Nicholas and Maria Cicibrk of Croatia and brother of the late Annie Cicibrk.
Peter grew up in the Excelsior district, attended Balboa High School until 11th grade and dropped out of school to go to work with his dad at Crest Automotive garage. He then went on to work at Ray Oil Burner Company, drove a jitney, bartended at The Question Mark Bar and retired from The Red Roof Restaurant as a bartender.
He married Ann Pavlovich in 1956 and they went on to have two children. Peter was a fixture in the Excelsior. He had many acquaintances in the community and often made the round to some of the local businesses to chat with his friends.
His weekly routine was his daily coffee, muffin, and newspaper run and then to morning mass at Corpus Christi Church. On Saturday evening he attended St. John Church where he was an usher for many years. He was often seen praying the rosary or reading in his beloved Buick at the "library".
His number one passion aside from his favorite hometown teams, the SF Giants and SF 49ers, was cars. He was an avid admirer of a beautiful automobile. Throughout his life he acquired and then sold many cars. Many of his friends gave him the nickname of Clean Car Pete.
He was very social and belonged to a few local Croatian social organizations; the Slavonic Mutual Benevolent Society, The Croatian Fraternal Union and The Blato Club. For many years he served as bartender at the SMBS for many catering events.
He is survived by his dear and beloved wife, Anna Cicibrk, son Nicholas Cicibrk, daughter Deborah and son-in-law Charles Lamp. He also leaves three grandsons, Ryan Cicibrk, Alex and Erik Lamp. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his family for his strong faith in God and for "doing things his way".
We wish to thank the staff at both Lawton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and St Mary's Hospital for taking good care of dad these past six months. A prayer service was held for Peter at Garden Chapel Mortuary in South San Francisco with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. Donations in his name can be made to St. Anthony's in San Francisco, a cause Peter strongly supported.
