Peter Nicholas Andrich, age 78, of Newport Beach, California, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, just days after his diagnosis of acute leukemia. Peter was born on December 5, 1946, in San Pedro, California, to commercial fisherman Pete Andrich and dental assistant Elizabeth Helen Zuponavich. He had one older sister, Barbara Clapp.
In the early 1960s, Peter and his family moved to Oahu, Hawai'i, for his father’s fishing career. During his time there, Peter attended the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa for a brief period. He eventually returned to California and completed his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at California State University, Long Beach, where he was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. Later, in 1980, he earned his MBA from the University of Southern California with a focus on real estate and international finance.
In his early 30s, Peter moved to Orange County, where he would spend the rest of his life. On April 10, 1997, he welcomed his daughter, MacKenzie Elizabeth Andrich, whom he cherished deeply. Peter had a knack for bringing people together and took great joy in hosting dinners for family and friends.
Peter practiced commercial real estate for over five decades, spending a significant portion of his career at CBRE, where he served as Senior Vice President. He truly loved his work, particularly for the lifelong friendships he cultivated along the way.
A proud second-generation Croatian American, Peter maintained close ties with family in California, Washington state, Croatia, and Australia. He found joy in European history, travel—especially to St. Tropez, France, and Croatia—photography, and cooking.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Pete and Elizabeth. He is survived by his daughter, MacKenzie; his sister, Barbara; and numerous cousins and extended family members who will remember him fondly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, an organization committed to finding cures for the blood cancers that claimed the lives of both Peter and his father.
